Draft for the pilot – to be completed and reviewed by a lawyer before public launch. Text in [brackets] is still missing.

1. What Carrykin is

Carrykin is a platform that connects travellers who have spare luggage space with people who want to send personal items. Carrykin is not a courier, carrier or freight forwarder and does not take possession of items.

2. Accounts and verification

You must be 18+. Travellers must verify their identity and flight before a trip goes live. False documents lead to permanent removal and may be reported.

3. Allowed items

Only personal, legal, non-commercial items within duty-free allowances. Not allowed: food that spoils, meat and dairy, medicines for third parties, cash, gold, valuables, weapons, sealed packages and anything prohibited under German, transit or Indian law. The traveller must see the open package and may refuse anything.

4. Price and fee

The sender pays the traveller the agreed carrying price. Carrykin suggests a price; the parties may agree a different price within the displayed range. Carrykin charges a service fee of 7.5% of the price (minimum €1, maximum €7.50), deducted from the traveller’s payout. During the free trial Carrykin charges no fee. Fees during pilot tests may differ and are always shown before acceptance. During announced campaigns (e.g. Diwali, 15 Oct – 8 Nov 2026) Carrykin charges no fee on deals accepted in that period. Displayed prices are standard prices: the parties may negotiate the price in the app; documents may be priced differently, and items needing special care (e.g. fragile items) may cost extra.

5. Payment and release

After acceptance the sender pays the agreed price through our payment provider Stripe. Carrykin holds the amount and transfers the traveller’s share to their Stripe payout account after the delivery code is entered. Cancellation before the handover refunds the sender in full. Travellers must complete Stripe’s payout setup to receive money; earlier deliveries are paid out once it is complete. While payments run in test mode, no money is charged. [Legal review: payment-service and escrow-like holding rules, consumer withdrawal rights, invoicing and VAT on the Carrykin fee.]

6. Handover and delivery

The handover must be planned in the Carrykin chat and take place before the flight. The traveller confirms the handover with the sender’s code and the delivery with the recipient’s code.

7. Customs and responsibility

The traveller carries the items in their own name and is responsible towards customs. The sender is responsible for a truthful declaration of contents and value.

8. Liability

[To be drafted with legal counsel: limits of Carrykin’s liability as intermediary; liability between users; lost or damaged items; maximum declared value.]

9. Kin Points

Points have no cash value, cannot be transferred and may expire [period]. Pilot rewards depend on partner availability. Points obtained through fraud are cancelled.

10. Off-platform deals

Moving a deal outside Carrykin removes payment protection and support and may lead to account suspension.

11. Reports and disputes

Problems can be reported from the chat. Carrykin may pause payouts while a report is reviewed.

12. Final provisions

German law applies. [Place of jurisdiction, severability, changes to terms.]
